Skoda is putting the final touches to its new Fabia range, testing both left- and right-hand drive versions by night on the roads near its factory at Mlada Boleslav, near Prague. The first official glimpse of these cars comes early 2007, with a formal launch at the Geneva Motor Show, but until then, here are some shots of the nocturnal prototypes. The resemblance to the Roomster compact MPV is clear, especially at the front end, and the Fabia will have similar upright, black-painted roof pillars as well. It will stay a similar size to the current model, larger than the Volkswagen Polo and Seat Ibiza with which it shares some of its underpinnings, yet smaller than the Golf/Leon/Audi A3.
