Some first official details on 340i M Performance Power Kit (MPPK), with sound clip While at SEMA 2015, we managed to get some official first details on the upcoming 340i M Performance Power Kit (MPPK) and limited slip differential (LSD). Q: What are the details on the 340i M Performance Power Kit (MPPK)? A: It should be available by beginning-mid of December. The power kit now only comes bundled with the M Performance Exhaust since they work in tandem. The stock exhaust has too much back pressure to work with the higher flow of the new power kit, so the 340i M Performance Exhaust has reduced back pressure to work with the remapped ECU of the power kit. There's two ways to increase power - intake more air, or reduce back pressure allowing for faster air exit. With the previous MPPK (for the N55 engine) we went the route of more air intake, but for the 340i (B58 engine) we modified the the exhaust system to reduce back pressure and allow the air to exit the car faster, which together with the modified ECU, results in more power. Q: What are the expected gains for the 340i MPPK (ECU + Exhaust)? A: We're not ready to share final numbers, but expect it to be around 360hp (going from 240kw to 265kw), and 369 lb-ft (going from 450Nm to 500Nm). Q: Details on the 340i M Performance Exhaust? A: It's the new generation flap exhaust. Valves open/close depending on which driving mode the car is in. Me conformo con el autoblocante. Me quiten el aleroncito, las franjas y las llantas que ya me buscaré yo la vida. Y el escape tampoco me mata, casi prefiero el sonido stock. Y el chispazo más de lo mismo, para 40 cv tampoco hay que hacer ingeniería aeroespacial.
El escape lo justifican para la ganancia de potencia y debe sonar mejor pero opino igual, esos 2 tubarros cromados parecen del Norauto.
Más que la estética es el sonido el que no me acaba de entrar. No se, es que automáticamente lo comparo con sus hermanos atmosféricos y....

El problema de este coche que en cuanto te pones a meter chucherías de M-Performance a un 340i te acercas peligrosamente en precio a sus hermanos mayores los M3 y M4...
