The new BMW M4 has divided the fanbase; there are those that like its design and those that don’t.
However, there’s one thing neither side can deny, the new M4 is more aggressive looking than ever before. Its massive front grille, large air intakes, and hood bulges make it a much angrier looking car than its predecessor.
So what will it look like if an even angrier, more aggressive models debuts, a model such as a BMW M4 CSL?
In these new rendered photos, we get to see what a potential BMW M4 CSL might look like, if BMW decides to go down that route. We know a special edition, more focused model will happen eventually but we don’t know what it will be or what it will look like.

It’s all but confirmed at this point: the BMW M3 CS is going to make a comeback. The car has been spotted several times doing the rounds BMW’s usual proving ground, the Nurburgring. As it gets closer to its launch date, we’re bound to see it drop some camo but for now, the psychedelic wrap BMW uses to cover up its prototypes is working wonders at keeping us in the dark.

Nevertheless, the design of the car won’t be significantly different anyway. Most likely, the M3 CS will get a few add-ons here and there, meant to make it look more menacing and enhance its aerodynamic profile. If older CS models are anything to go by, we’ll see a new front lip added to the mix, along with a rear spoiler on top of the boot lid and a new set of wheels, as well as wider side sills.


Inside the cabin, some weight-saving measures could be applied. Thus, the M Carbon seats you get as an optional feature in the standard M3 could be offered as standard, while the center armrest might be deleted altogether. The door panels could be made of CFRP and have a lighter construction overall. Even so, it’s too early to make such predictions. One thing’s for certain: efforts will be made to keep it as light as possible.

As for the specs, don’t expect huge levels of power on top of what a Competition model is offering. That’s not the point of the CS versions. The idea is to make a car that’s even sharper to drive, not necessarily faster in a drag race. We could see a 10-20 horsepower bump from the 3.0 liter straight-six S58 engine under the hood, but that’s about it. Torque levels are expected to remain the same. 2022 BMW M3 CS G80 Future Limited Edition Sedan

The new generation BMW M3 and M4 will have an extensive selection of variants: the standard M3/M4, the Competition models, and the top of the lines, CS.
The previous generation F80 stopped at the CS, but the M4 was offered in the track-ready GTS. The G80 M3 CS and G82 M4 CS are expected to arrive in 2022, along with the M3 Touring.
But even before the market launch of the new M3, rendering artists have started to “pen” the CS version. Thanks to the Photoshop design by @bmw43__, we get to see what the potential M3 CS might look like.
Similar to the previous CS models, the additional power is not the full story, even though we expect at least 525 horsepower on tap.
The CS models have always refined the Competition variants, mostly through software tuning, and some aero upgrades. Historically, the CS models also have a refined interior design.
Since the goal of a CS variant is to enhance the sportiness of an existing model, we expect to see plenty of carbon fiber inside, paired with a sportier steering wheel and some unique leather and trim combinations.
Of course, the M3 CSL and M4 CSL will be the pinnacle of the range. So it’s fair to assume that the exterior and interior changes will be significant, along with a weight loss plan. A power bump is also expected: our guess, at least 550 horsepower on tap.

At the moment, there’s a lot of hubbub surrounding the upcoming BMW M4 CSL. Just the fact that BMW is bringing the CSL nameplate back has fans excited. However, there’s another car on the way, another more hardcore sports car, that will be a bit less extreme and a bit more affordable than the M4 CSL — the BMW M3 CS.

There hasn’t been as much hubbub about the M3 CS as there has been for the M4 CSL. However, I’d argue that the former might be even more exciting than the latter. For starters, it’s going to be an M3, so it will have four doors, at least four seats (it would be amazing if it got rear bucket seats, like the M5 CS), and a more usability. Secondly, it will likely be quite a bit more affordable than the CSL, which will be a very expensive machine. (We don’t know if there’s going to be an M3 CSL but we haven’t heard of one just yet)

It likely won’t be as sharp or as dynamic as the M4 CSL but it will also likely be more comfortable. If the M2 CS and M5 CS are anything to go by, the M3 CS will actually be more comfortable than the M3 Competition.

While we don’t know much about the BMW M3 CS, we do know a few things. It’s going to go into production in July 2023 and run until February 2024, which indicates a very short production time and limited numbers. So if you want one, you’re gonna have to jump on it. Those optional carbon fiber bucket seats from the M3 Competition will be standard on the BMW M3 CS as well.

Another interesting bit is that the M3 CS will be getting a new exclusive BMW M headlight design. We’re not quite sure what that means just yet but it’s said to be getting an exclusive M headlight.

Crucially, though, the upcoming BMW M3 CS will not have a manual transmission option. While that’s not exactly shocking, considering the state of performance cars at the moment, there were a lot of fans holding out hope for a three-pedal ‘box in more extreme BMW options. That won’t be the case here.

The past few CS models to come from the M Division; the F80 M3 CS, F82 M4 CS, M2 CS, and M5 CS; have all been outstanding. If those cars are anything to go by, the BMW M3 CS could be one of the very best driver’s cars in BMW history.

2023 BMW M4 CSL spy photos reveal a new kidney grille design

One of the biggest reveals of 2022 will be the BMW M4 CSL. The super sporty M4 was already spotted out testing in Germany featuring an extremely aggressive design. The latest spy photos (available here) reveal something even more interesting: the 2023 BMW M4 CSL will get a new set of kidney grilles. Compared to the current G80 M3 and G82 M4, the high-end M4 CSL will feature racing-inspired kidney design with only three horizontal slats and large air openings.

If the design looks familiar is because you’ve already seen in on the BMW M4 GT3 racing car. The front bumper is also sportier in style with the camouflage hiding a new design and plenty of air curtains for additional cooling. The front-end design is rounded off by the carbon fiber splitter which not only adds some racing flair to the car, but also provides additional downforce.

We already know that the special version will come with the S58 engine under the hood, but the 3-liter straight six mill will apparently make 540 HP in the M4 CSL, a bump of 30 HP compared to the Competition model. That seems accurate, judging by what we’ve seen on other special edition models in the past, which also had small increases in power. Furthermore, there will be plenty of weight-saving measures deployed and the CSL is expected to stay true to its name with a lightweight construction. To do that, a lot of carbon fiber will be used, nearly everywhere possible.

The real questions will be; will it have a manual or automatic transmission and will it be rear or all-wheel drive? With that much horsepower under the hood, we strongly believe that an eight-speed automatic will be paired with an all-wheel drive setup. When the BMW M4 CSL (or CS) does debut, we do hope that it has the same impact as its predecessor. The F82 BMW M4 CS and M4 GTS are fantastic looking cars and one that I think a of enthusiasts are going to be searching for on the second-hand market for many years to come.

2023 BMW M4 CSL to Have World’s First M-Designed Headlights

With a perfect 50:50 weight distribution, a short wheelbase and a somewhat high-revving straight-six under a long hood, it will definitely be the most ‘M car of the new millennium.’

Second on the list, which is no specific order by the way, is the 2023 BMW X8 M, set to become the first electrified M model thanks to a plug-in hybrid V8 powertrain setup that should comprise around 750 horsepower in a gargantuan and odd-looking super crossover.

Last, but certainly not least, is the 2023 BMW M4 CSL, which represents the return of a legendary nameplate and should be the fastest and most powerful non-V8 M production car in history.

In 2022, the BMW M brand will celebrate 50 years of its existence. And naturally, they will celebrate it in style. A series of celebratory events will take place next year across the globe, including but not limited to the 24 hours of Nurburgring, the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Monterey Car Week. One of the cars to be introduced at one of those venues will be the 2023 BMW M4 CSL.


Rumors are that BMW is working on a couple of exciting M3/M4 models. The G80 M3 will allegedly get the M3 CS model, while the M4 CSL will represent the pinnacle of the new M family. So with less than a year until their reveal, some prototypes are actively being tested in Europe.

The latest spy photos, courtesy of @wilcoblok, reveal what seems to be the 2023 BMW M4 CSL. There is still a little bit of confusion surrounding this prototype since it doesn’t have the expected aggressive style of a CSL or GTS model. Furthermore, it also lacks the racing kidney grille seen on other prototypes. But it’s highly likely that future prototypes will incorporate a more unique bodykit.




The 2023 BMW M4 CSL will also introduce new M headlights, specific to the model, along with a choice between M bucket seats and racing seats. Furthermore, there will be plenty of weight-saving measures deployed and the CSL is expected to stay true to its name with a lightweight construction. To do that, a lot of carbon fiber will be used, nearly everywhere possible.


We already know that the special version will come with the S58 engine under the hood, but the 3-liter straight six mill will apparently make 540 HP in the M4 CSL, a bump of 30 HP compared to the Competition model. That seems accurate, judging by what we’ve seen on other special edition models in the past, which also had small increases in power. The engine is paired to an automatic transmission and the car will offer a rear-wheel drive setup.

Production of the G82 BMW M4 CSL will start in July 2022 and will end in February 2023. Considering the short production plan, we expect the number of units available to be quite limited.

No ha habido tanta charla sobre el M4 CS como sobre el M4 CSL. Probablemente será un poco más asequible que el CSL y no será tan nítido o dinámico como el M4 CSL. Pero también será más cómodo. Si el M2 CS y el M5 CS son algo por lo que pasar, el M4 CS será un auto de pista de fin de semana adecuado.

New G82 BMW M4 to feature two sporty variants: M4 CS and M4 CSL

The new generation G82 BMW M4 is bound to get two additional variants in 2022 and 2023. Over the last few months there has been a lot of chatter around M4 prototypes which were spotted in Germany. The test mules featured slightly different bodykits so that has created some confusion. But today, we can report that we will indeed see a BMW M4 CS and M4 CSL within the next two years.

M4 CSL
The BMW M4 CSL G82 is the first to arrive in 2022 as the top model of the M3/M4 range. The easiest way to distinguish the CSL from the CS model in those highly camouflaged prototypes is by looking at the rear end. The G82 M4 CSL features a ducktail spoiler.

The 2022 BMW M4 CSL will also introduce new M headlights, specific to the model, along with a choice between M bucket seats and racing seats. Furthermore, there will be plenty of weight-saving measures deployed and the CSL is expected to stay true to its name with a lightweight construction. To do that, a lot of carbon fiber will be used, nearly everywhere possible.

M4 CS

There hasn’t been as much chatter about the M4 CS as there has been for the M4 CSL. It will likely be a bit more affordable than the CSL and won’t be as sharp or as dynamic as the M4 CSL. But it will also be more comfortable. If the M2 CS and M5 CS are anything to go by, the M4 CS will be a proper weekend track car.

There aren’t any power figures that we can report on today, but we expect just a slight power bump over the M4 Competition along with a new software mapping for the engine, steering and throttle response. It will also feature an M Steptronic eight-speed automatic, bucket seats and plenty of carbon-fiber bits. New exclusive M headlamps will also be standard for the M4 CS. Both models will be limited in numbers.

Me hace especial ilusión el CSL, a ver si nos presentan algo especial de verdad y no como el F82 GTS Podría hasta cargar con la riñonada.

Si lo que asoma en el frontal es el radiador de aceite, desde luego que tiene mas sentido que en el F82, que va en posición horizontal y se lleva mil y una pedradas.

BMW M3 CS and M4 CS Coming in 2023

We recently learned that the BMW M4 CSL is on its way, with more power, a lower curb weight, and rear-wheel drive . However, the CSL isn’t the only special Bimmer on its way, it will be joined by two siblings; the BMW M3 CS and the M4 CS, both of which will be here in 2023. After the incredible success of the M2 CS and M5 CS, it’s easy to get excited about new CS models. Especially when the starting point for these new ones; the G80 BMW M3 and G82 BMW M4; are already so good. Put two and two together and the M3 CS and M4 CS should be a stellar pair of driver’s cars.

What Will They Be?
Much like the BMW M2 CS and M5 CS, the upcoming BMW M3 and M4 CS models will be more powerful, lighter weight, and more fun versions of the standard cars. We don’t have specifics on weight savings just yet, nor do we have the exact power specs. But we can assume somewhere in between the M3/M4 Competition (510 horsepower) and M4 CSL (550 horsepower). However, we do have a bit of information on the two cars.

Both the BMW M3 CS and M4 CS will follow a similar recipe as the M5 CS, in that they will both be all-wheel drive-only and both will only use automatic gearboxes. That might be a touch disappointing at first, considering the M2 CS was rear-drive only and available with a manual gearbox. However, anyone that’s drive the M5 CS knows the M Division can work wonders with an all-wheel drive/automatic combo. Plus, having driven both the standard BMW M3 (manual) and M3 Competition (auto), I can say the latter is better.

Will I Be Able to Buy One?
That’s the question, right? Both the BMW M2 CS and M5 CS were sold in limited capacity and difficult to get. We’re expecting some sort of limited allocation for the M3 ad M4 CS models but we don’t have any specific numbers on which. If you want one, though, it would make sense to start preparing your wallet now, so you can jump on preorders as soon as they start, this way you can snag one regardless of the production numbers.

Which One to Get?
Obviously, the two cars will likely be identical, so it really comes down to door count. For the previous generation, the F82 M4 CS got the same OLED taillights as the M4 GTS but the F80 BMW M3 CS did not. However, we don’t see any sort of changes between the M3 and M4 CS this time around. Though, there will be an interesting factor in choosing between the two — the M4 CSL.

The BMW M4 CSL will also be coming and it will be even more powerful, more hardcore, and rear-wheel drive. It will be the purest of purists M4s and, more importantly, will be exclusive to the BMW M4. There won’t be an M3 CSL, so if you want that extra bit of hardcore performance, you’ll have to ditch the rear doors. Just in case it’s confusing, this is how the model variations will go:

• BMW M3 Competition
• BMW M3 CS
• BMW M4
• BMW M4 Competition
• BMW M4 CS
• BMW M4 CSL

Both the BMW M3 CS and M4 CS will debut at the same time, sometime in 2023 and we’re champing at the bit to find out more about them. The M2 CS and M5 CS were both stellar driver’s cars, among the best BMW has ever made, so the idea of new CS models based on the incredible G80 M3 and G82 M4 is an exciting one.
