La Broque, an event that is part of the 2nd Division French Hill Climb Championship, marked the return of plenty of Monsters to action, with some unqiue machines finally racing again and making use of the good geographical location to do a "shakedown" for the remainder of the Season.

With some big Beasts present as well as plenty of the E1 Class machines of Berg-cup, Swiss, Belgian and Luxembourg championships, the Top 10 Fastest Monsters were:

Flipante los onboard en las barquetas del minuto 1.10 , 2.16, 3.50, 5.36, 9.25 y el monoplaza del 7.31, así se aprecia la velocidad y la espectacularida y peligro del trazado.

Osnabruck Hill Climb marked the return of the Berg-Cup series to the German Hills after almost Two years of absence and as is the norm, featured a spectacular Entry List in what is one of the most well organized and supported events of the year. From the usual Golf, Kadett and Scirocco Berg-Cup screamers, to the 4WD Turbo Monsters and one of our Subscribers´favourites right at the Top, this is how they placed in the end:

Top 10 HillClimb Monsters || Ilirska-Bistrica 2021 (6500+Hp Total !!!)

One of the most stacked Entry Lists we have had since the World took a break, Ilirska-Bistrica featured a tremendous number of the most powerful Monsters in Europe, with plenty of 700+Hp Evos, 600+Hp Lancia Deltas, Imprezas, plenty of unique builds and even though some of the big hitters had issues or were not able to appear (Werver in the 650+Hp 997 GT2 being the most notable case), the final Top 10 still had a combined 6500+Hp of power between all of them, with the winner beating the All Time Touring Car course record along the way. Without further ado, these were the Fastest Machines of the event:

TOP 10 HillClimb Monsters || Oberhallau 2021 (190 JUDD V8 Return!!)

The only Swiss HillClimb held during these last two years, Oberhallau 2021 was graced with a tremendous entrylist, given the massive interest from the Swiss HillClimbers as well as the Berg-Cup crowd, and featured the return of the legendary Mercedes 190 RM1 Judd V8 of Reto Meisel,in what was probably a one-off occasion, which in any case must be celebrated.
It would end up doing the fastest Single Run of the weekend among the Touring Car crowd, but the difficult weather made the entirety of the event much trickier. With the first competitive run being made under intense rain and the second one in full dry conditions, it scrambled up the final classification quite a bit. It all ended up like this:

The last round of the European HillClimb Championship was held in Croatia at Buzet and featured both a spectacular entrylist and some of the most unstable weather conditions. With dry weather mixing with heavy rain that would eventually cancel most of the last Race Run, we saw the first places dominated by the 4wd machinery, with the Lancer Evos naturally rising to the Top. And winning it all was a returning Monster, preparing an All-Out Assault to the Masters later this season...

Cividale-Castelmonte 2021, one of the very last Hillclimb Races of the Season featured once again a great entrylist, counting towards both Northern-Italian and Austrian championships. With plenty of 600+Hp machinery in both 4x4 and RWD form, it even featured quite a few surprises. Check it out:

One of the last Hillclimb events of the year in France, Turckheim was once again able to gather quite a special entrylist, with Monsters from bothe the French, Belgian and Luxembourg Championships. With the GT3 Monsters dominating the Top spots, it was pretty special to see some proper Old-School HillClimb Monsters infiltrating this Top 10.

BRUTAL 830Hp Lancer Evo X || ONBOARD Crazy Driving !!

Among the spectacular "Polish Evo Armada" we saw at HillClimb Masters Falperra, there was this unique Lancer Evo X of Michal Ratajczyk. Not the most usual base for HillClimb Racing, the 4B11 powered machine here is prepared to a whole new level and was one of the most impressive Monsters of the event. With 830Hp/8.500Rpm (although that RPM limit seemed quite higher...) from the 2.0L Turbo Engine, weighing around 1150Kg and fitted with a bespoke Aero package, not only was it tremendously quick going straight, it was also a joy to behold on the corners. And there we have to thank Mr. Ratajczyk and his will to take this Monster to the limit. For something this powerful, it sure got close to edge of the road on pretty much every turn...

Alucina con este Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X de 831 CV en vídeo y su baile en las curvas del ascenso a Falperra

Nuestro hoy protagonista no es un Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X cualquiera: se trata de una unidad llevada al extremo para completar en el menor tiempo posible la Subida á Falperra del FIA Hill Climb Masters en Braga (Portugal).

Celebrada entre el 8 y el 10 el pasado mes de octubre, esta prueba de ascenso en territorio luso se saldó con este Lancer EVO X RS quedando en segunda posición de su categoría.

Clave fue el hacer del piloto, el polaco Michal Ratajczyk, pero también la tremenda máquina preparada ad hoc para esta prueba y que podemos ver en este vídeo de Hill Climb Monsters.


Más de 830 CV para 1.150 kg y ronzando las 9.000 vueltas
Este Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution de décima generación con el que compitió Ratajczyk, uno de los más espectaculares de la cita y que se midió en corto a sus rivales en la categoría 1, iba aderezado con un kit aerodinámico para pegarse bien al asfalto en curvas.

Así, por ejemplo apreciamos un alerón aún más grande en la zaga, unas defensas sobredimensionadas y un difusor trasero más generoso y concebido a base de listones verticales.

Además, como suele ser habitual, el interior iba vaciado e integraba elementos de competición como la jaula antivuelco, a lo que se suma que llevaba neumáticos lisos. Gracias a estos cambios pasó a parar la báscula en 1.150 kg lo que supone 525 kg menos que el de serie que lo fija en 1.675 kg.

Pero este traje no fue el único aderezo del Lancer EVO X de Ratajczyk, pues también la mecánica iba modificada. Es decir que el bloque 4B11T de aluminio turbo de cuatro cilindros, 2.0 litros, 295 CV y 366 Nm de par fue vitaminado para la ocasión.

En este Lancer EVO X RS fue ajustado para sacarle nada menos que 831 CV, lo que supone mucho más del doble de la que ofrece este motor del modelo japonés. De igual manera se elevó el régimen de vueltas, que pasó de las 3.500 rpm del de serie a las 8.500 vueltas, aunque en el vídeo lo vemos rozando las 9.000 rpm.

Todo para que fuese lo más rápido posible en las muchas curvas de esta subida que se celebra cerca del municipio de Braga y que supera los cinco kilómetros. En el vídeo podemos ver a Ratajczyk acometiendo cada giro a altas velocidades y volando en línea recta cuando el trazado le dejaba.


Pero aún más espectaculares son las imágenes on board, donde la carretera pasa tan rápido como el hacer del polaco sobre el volante, las levas del cambio secuencial para subir o bajar de marcha o los pedales. ¡Gas!

• Debuting this last Season, this is Bernhard Permetinger´s BMW Z4 GT3 Monster, among the fastest on the Berg-Cup series and one we were able to see on two different events , driven by two different drivers. The P65B44 V8 powered Race Car with around 550Hp was present at Oberhallau with Mr. Permetinger behind the wheel, but at St. Agatha was possible to see Hillclimb Racing Legend and BMW test driver Joerg Weidinger taking this machine to the limit. In each case it would go on to place among the Top 5 fastest Touring Cars in each event and all this still in a phase where the car is still finding the best set-up possible for Hillclimb Racing opposed to the smooth circuit circuits it had faced before. Now during 2022 we are sure more and better will be achieved by this beautiful unit...
