I got the unbelievable, once-in-a-lifetime chance to drive the incredible 1 of 1 Bugatti La Voiture Noire thanks to its very kind owner and the Supercar Owners Circle. The car is a coachbuilt special inspired by the Type 57 Atlantic, and looks incredible on the road. The car is powered by a 1500 horsepower W16 engine with quad turbos and the power is simply staggering.

During Supercar Owners Circle 2022 in Croatia I have filmed the epic Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro, making it's European Debut.
Compared to the 2018 version, the final specification of the Valkyrie AMR Pro does away with the hybrid setup to shave off weight.
However, the output is down from the 1,100+ combined horsepower of the concept to 1,000 hp generated exclusively by the naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12.
Built by Cosworth, the engine revs to 11,000 rpm and is described as being the "masterpiece of internal combustion."
The diet extends beyond ditching the hybrid bits as Aston Martin has developed a full carbon fiber body and even carbon suspension wishbones.
In addition, the Perspex windscreen and side windows help shave off excess fat to maximize the performance of the track-only machine.
Compared to a road-going Valkyrie, it has twice the downforce thanks to an extreme aero package enabling lateral acceleration of more than 3G.
It has been stretched by 266 millimeters (10.5 inches) over the street-legal car and the overall length has increased by 380 mm (15 inches).
In addition, the front and rear tracks are wider (+96 mm and +115 mm, respectively) while the underbody has been subjected to changes for optimal airflow.
Aston Martin says these modifications help the Valkyrie AMR Pro deliver "extraordinary levels of downforce," also made possible by fine-tuning the overwing airflow.
The Gaydon-based marque mentions it will release full technical specifications in the months to come, mentioning the company is targeting a lap time of the Le Mans circuit in 3 minutes and 20 seconds.
That would make the Valkyrie AMR Pro as fast as LMP1 race cars around the 8.5-mile Circuit de la Sarthe. Only 40 cars (plus two prototypes) will be built and all are going to come in left-hand-drive specification.

No apto para oídos sensibles: así es el brutal sonido de uno de los últimos V12 atmosféricos modernos

Pensar hoy en día en un V12 atmosférico es casi como pensar en el Santo Grial. Y es que aunque sigan existiendo vehículos que recurran a esta joya mecánica, dentro de poco la legislación se encargará de que no sean viables. Es por eso que cuesta aún más pensar en motores de doce cilindros de aspiración natural concebidos en esta época, pero el brutal Apollo EVO nos demuestra con su sonido no apto para todos los oídos que aún hay cabida para esta configuración mecánica.

Sí, estamos hablando de un motor que sigue vigente en marcas con un volumen de ventas bajo, por lo que sus emisiones globales son bajas y pueden permitirse estos lujos y deleitar a los más entusiastas del motor. Pero el Apollo EVO es mucho más que un superdeportivo animado por un V12 atmosférico, y lo podemos percibir ya solo en su abrupta estética.

Y aunque bien es cierto que Apollo es una marca relativamente modesta y pequeña frente a algunos de sus competidores, está dando mucho de que hablar. No es para menos teniendo en cuenta el revuelo que causo el EVO en Croacia, donde se celebró el Supercars Owners Circle y donde este ha conseguido ser el centro de atención pese al alto nivel de vehículos.

El rompedor diseño del Apollo EVO hace que más que un coche parezca una nave espacial, sobre todo por ese hincapié tan vehemente en la aerodinámica. Al fin de cuentas es el punto más trascendente del hyperdeportivo alemán, puesto que combina una trabajada aerodinámica con un peso muy contenido y un soberbio V12 de origen Ferrari.



Concretamente se trata de un doce cilindros atmosférico de 6.3 litros que desarrolla 770 CV. Esto nos deja no solo con todo un portento de la deportividad, sino también con una banda sonora que supera con creces a la de otros portadores de este mismo V12, tales como un Ferrari LaFerrari o un F12 TDF presentes en el evento y que, al lado del Apollo EVO, no se hacen escuchar demasiado.
