DISSECTING THE LAUNCH CONTROL VIDEO:

DCT slips clutch at 5000 rpm, V16 = ~800hp w/ e-motors assist, gradually building to ~400kW (500+ hp).
Once clutch stops slipping (5000rpm 1st gear, ~50 mph) motors relax and let engine mostly take over.
As V16’s torque starts to drop off (>8000) motors step in, spike to 1000+ hp to fill in before shift.
Redline 1st happens at ~145 km/h (90 mph!)
2nd gear gets full beans from 3 motors + V16; redlines at 190 km/h (118 mph)
3rd gear, same. Redlines at 245 km/h (152 mph)
4th gear, same, motors down to 700kW by the end, redlines 312 km/h (194 mph)
5th gear, redlines 380 km/h (236 mph)
6th gear hits top speed @ 8900 rpm, motors relax.
I suspect 2 remaining gears are cruising gears. 6th gear = ~2600 rpm at 80 mph, way more than necessary for 8.3-liter.
Fascinating stuff. Can’t wait to spend some time around this thing. Rimac does NOT mess about. Rimac + Bugatti is one hell of a combo.
