2022 BMW X4 M Facelift no tendrá hocico Serie 4, no se preocupe 11 dic 2020 Cuando BMW presentó el actual Serie 4 Coupé G22, señaló un nuevo cambio de dirección con respecto a cómo debería verse un auto deportivo bávaro para algunos , pero aparentemente estaban equivocados. La parrilla en forma de riñón horriblemente sobredimensionada seguirá siendo una característica exclusiva de la Serie 4, y las recientes fotos espía de otros autos deportivos BMW próximos parecen reforzar esa idea. Tomemos, por ejemplo, el lavado de cara de mitad de ciclo del BMW X4 M 2022, del cual se ha visto un prototipo una vez más luciendo un pesado camuflaje delantero y trasero. Llamado LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) en el lenguaje de BMW, el lavado de cara parece tener una gran cantidad de cambios exteriores, pero ninguno de ellos involucra una parrilla de riñón gigantesca. Seguro, será mucho más grande que en la versión actual previa al estiramiento facial, pero no tanto como para asustar a los niños pequeños, por ejemplo, y definitivamente no tan grande como el de la Serie 4. Una forma similar a la de BMW X5 para los faros, los parachoques delanteros y traseros más agresivos, así como los gráficos rediseñados de las luces traseras deberían completar la renovación exterior del X4 M LCI, pero de todos modos deberías esperar más ventajas para el interior. Los modelos M Competition tienen suficiente empuje de sus seis en línea de 3.0 litros para seguir siendo más que relevantes en su segmento. Como un breve repaso, el BMW X4 M se las arregla con no menos de 510 PS (503 hp) y 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) de torque en forma de Competición, y todo gracias al motor S58 que comparte con el M3 y M4. Sin embargo, una cifra de par ligeramente mejor para X4 M y X4 M Competition no sería algo inesperado para el LCI. La configuración de la suspensión también se modificará, pero el carácter general del automóvil seguramente seguirá siendo el mismo, por lo que tampoco se preocupe desde esa perspectiva. 2022 BMW X4 M Facelift Won’t Get 4 Series Snout, Don’t Worry 11 Dec 2020 When BMW unveiled the current 4 Series Coupe G22, it signaled a new change of direction regarding how a Bavarian sports car should look for some, but they were apparently wrong. The horribly oversized kidney grille is set to remain a 4 Series-only feature, and recent spy photos of other upcoming BMW sports cars seem to reinforce that idea. Take the 2022 BMW X4 M mid-cycle facelift, for example, of which a prototype has been spotted once again sporting heavy front and rear camouflage. Called LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) in BMW-speak, the facelift seems to sport quite a number of exterior changes, but none of them involves a gargantuan kidney grille. Sure, it will be much bigger than on the current pre-facelift version, but not as big as to scare little children, for example, and definitely not as big as the one on the 4 Series. A BMW X5-like shape for the headlights, more aggressive front and rear bumpers, as well as redesigned taillight graphics should complete the exterior revamp of the X4 M LCI, but you should expect more goodies for the interior anyway. The latest iDrive infotainment should make use of a new dual-screen setup, while the center console might be redesigned almost completely in the revamped X4 and X4 M. Engine-wise we are not expecting too many modifications, with both the X4 M and X4 M Competition models having enough oomph from their 3.0-liter inline-sixes to remain more than relevant in their segment. As a brief refresher, the BMW X4 M makes do with no less than 510 PS (503 hp) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque in Competition guise, and it’s all thanks to the S58 engine it shares with the M3 and M4. A slightly better torque figure for both X4 M and X4 M Competition wouldn't be something to come out of the blue for the LCI, though. The suspension setup will also be reworked, but the overall character of the car is sure set to remain the same, so no worries from that perspective either.
