El Chevrolet Corvette 2020 llegará a Europa ¿Pero podremos comprarlo en España?

Chevrolet Corvette ha sido presentada con numerosos e importantes cambios, y no solo hablamos de su reinvención a nivel de chasis. Una de las grandes sorpresas de Chevrolet la hemos encontrado en sus intenciones de llevar el nuevo Corvette C8 a muchos otros mercados de forma oficial, incluyendo entre ellos el viejo continente como parte del desafío planteado a sus rivales más directos.


El Corvette C8 llegará a algunos mercados europeos, pero España es aún duda
Durante la presentación del nuevo Corvette, Chevrolet hizo especial hincapié en el desarrollo de este modelo como parte de un proyecto global. Para ello no solo se habían tenido en cuenta los gustos e intereses de diferentes mercados, sino que se había apostado por una puesta a punto mucho más deportiva y eficaz con el circuito de Nürburgring como centro de pruebas, y además se había pensado en la comercialización en mercados con el volante a la derecha como Reino Unido, Australia o Sudáfrica.



Con este replanteamiento del Corvette tanto como coche, como producto, la estrategia seguida por General Motors recuerda poderosamente a la defendida por la nueva generación del Ford Mustang. Aún no se han confirmado los detalles sobre el lanzamiento del Corvette en los diferentes mercados europeos, aunque sí se ha apuntado a una venta con carácter oficial e independiente de la marca Chevrolet.

El dilema de esta estrategia está en el desembarco del Corvette más allá de mercados como Alemania, Suiza, Francia o Reino Unido, mercados prácticamente confirmados gracias a su interés en un Corvette que se plantea como alternativa aún más directa a coches como el Porsche 911, Jaguar F-Type, Honda NSX o McLaren 570S. Por el momento, como ya pasara con el Corvette C7, parece que la compra del Corvette C8 en España no será sencilla más allá de la importación.

 

Se rumorea que quieren sacar Corvette como marca independiente, añadiendo una berlina y un SUVeaceras, me parece bien si con eso consiguen introducirse en Europa y en España en concreto

Un video en detalle, se aprecian bastantes detalles, como la ranura abierta de la cubierta de cristal del motor, una segunda camara trasera... y entre otras cosas, lo que más le gusta a los yankis, que por primera vez el Vette tenga cup holders

A ver qué pasa... Porque si el C8 se pone en venta en 10-15k € menos que un M4, a precio de Cayman gordo (a ambos se los pasará por la piedra más que probablemente, calidades a parte) y muchísimo más baratos que otros rivales semejantes, puede hacer pupita a los alemanes e incluso un poco a los italianos.

 

Yo he oido que a Europa llegara una versión turbo del C8, no se si como edición especial tipo Z06 o como stand alone para el mercado europeo. El problema es que el C8 llegaría con ma entrada del Euro6d (sin temp) y RDE2 y la cosa se complica para homologar coches en europa

 

Pues vaya tela,y digo yo que si quisieran los podrían homologar,al igual que hacen Ferrari ,Lambo y demás marcas ,no ?

 

Ya dije desde el principio que me temo problemas en Europa por las emisiones, igual se solucionaría con meterle un filtro de partículas para homologarlo.

Chevrolet Seems To Be Developing Track Package For New C8 Corvette

C8 Corvette Stingray would be available with an optional Z51 Performance Package from launch and now it’s emerged that another mystery ‘track package’ has been developed.

While attending the global unveiling of the new ‘Vette in mid-July, Brink of Speed on YouTube had the opportunity to speak with the Performance Color and Trim Manager for the car, Brett Goliff.

The interview gets particularly interesting at just before the 8-minute mark when Goliff starts to discuss the Competition Seat available for the new Corvette Stingray. This seat will be available alongside two other seats and ordinarily, features a host of custom touches over the ‘regular’ seats, including Chevrolet’s ‘performance textile’ on the side bolsters to hold occupants in place.


At the new Corvette Stingray’s launch, the company displayed a Competition Seat bathed entirely in this performance textile. Goliff then goes on to reveal that this particular seat will be available for an upcoming track-focused variant of the car.

“This version [of the seat] is for our track car,” he says. “There is a special track version of the vehicle that you can get that comes, essentially, with more of a blacked-out package and comes with this entire Competition Seat with the performance textile fabric.”

Corvette Blogger believes the ‘track package’ briefly discussed by Goliff will be available alongside the Z51 Performance Package but it remains to be seen what other options it will come with alongside the full performance textile Competition Seats. Evidently, Chevrolet is very much focusing on offering the Corvette Stingray in as many derivatives as possible before ultimately turning its attention to even faster Z06 and ZR1 models.

BOSE INTRODUCES ITS MOST POWERFUL PERFORMANCE SERIES SOUND SYSTEM IN NEXT-GENERATION CHEVROLET CORVETTE STINGRAY


July 24, 2019 — Today, Bose announces its most powerful and highest performing sound system ever for a sports car with the debut of the Bose Performance Series system in the eighth-generation Chevrolet Corvette.

The all-new 14-speaker Bose Performance system in the 2020 Corvette Stingray sets a new standard for sports car sound with highly advanced signal processing and tuning that delivers the loudest — yet clearest — Bose audio experience ever in a two-seat coupe cabin. And it continues a tradition of collaboration between Bose and Chevrolet that began with the 1984 fourth-generation Corvette.

“The new Corvette Stingray is phenomenal, and it delivers a special kind of experience that doesn’t happen very often. So, getting every detail just right is critically important — and that includes audio,” said Tobe Barksdale, chief audio engineer, Bose Automotive Systems. “The next-generation Corvette already delivers a thrilling soundtrack, courtesy of the engine. And when it comes to adding music to the mix, the custom-engineered Bose Performance Series system brings the moving emotion you’d expect in a legendary vehicle like this.”



Engineering a World-Class Sound System
Bose engineers worked closely with Chevrolet to develop the sound system during the most significant transformation in Corvette’s storied history, as it moves to a mid-engine design from the more conventional front-engine layout.

Shifting the engine location changes the size and shape of the vehicle cabin compared to previous generations and impacts the way music and sound is heard inside the car. This presented new challenges to the Bose system engineers, requiring innovative and creative techniques to deliver the best listening experience possible. Using a deep understanding of psychoacoustics — the study of how we perceive sound — along with advanced tuning capabilities, the Bose team designed an offering unlike any other in more than 35 years of engineering sound systems for Corvettes.

“From the beginning, we knew we had to have an audio system that carefully balanced the need to isolate the occupants from the engine compartment in the rear, while providing live performance-like audio clarity,” said Tadge Juechter, Corvette executive chief engineer. “The Bose system technology in the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray delivers that careful balance.”

With 14 precisely placed speakers inside the cabin — the most Bose has ever put into a two-seater — each occupant is surrounded by a diverse mix of high-quality and lightweight loudspeakers.

Across the instrument panel, 2.5-inch and 3.25-inch neodymium Bose Twiddler speakers help establish a broad and spacious sound stage, along with a combination of 4-inch neodymium wide-range speakers and 1-inch neodymium tweeters in each upper door. A pair of 5.25-inch neodymium wide-range speakers and three additional 3.25-inch neodymium Twiddler speakers in the rear of the cabin deliver rich, immersive sound. Deep, impactful bass performance is provided by 10-inch Bose Nd woofers creatively integrated in each door.



Discreetly Packaged Bass Performance
The Bose Nd woofers aren’t visible, but they produce a tremendous amount of low-frequency output, with minimal distortion, by using the architecture of the door itself as a massive bass enclosure. Unlike conventional systems that use a customized bass box with woofers inside, space limitations in the new Corvette made that approach impractical.

And instead of placing speaker grilles over the woofers, which could be abrasive to the driver’s and passenger’s legs when cornering the vehicle at high speeds, Chevrolet designed a smooth, padded surface for the interior door panel.



Custom-Tuned Bose AudioPilot Technology
To preserve the listening experience, even when the new Corvette engine is roaring at full throat, the Bose Performance Series system features a custom-tuned version of AudioPilot noise compensation technology. Using microphones built into the cabin to continuously monitor noise levels and a sophisticated Bose algorithm to analyze and adjust the music signal, AudioPilot technology reduces the effects of external sound. But because of the power and lightning-quick acceleration of the new Corvette Stingray, this application of AudioPilot requires faster processing than ever before.

Additional Bose innovations in the Performance Series system include Chevrolet’s first application of Advanced Staging Technology to produce an extremely wide sound stage with detailed separation between instruments and vocals. The system also uses Bose Centerpoint stereo-to-surround digital signal processing and Bose SurroundStage technology for balanced, 360-degree sound at each seat. And it’s all processed through a Bose digital amplifier with 16 channels of custom equalization.

The Bose Performance Series system will be available as an option on the 2020 Corvette Stingray. A 10-speaker Bose Premium surround-sound system will be offered as standard equipment. More details on packaging and trim levels will be announced by Chevrolet closer to the vehicle’s on-sale date.
