VEHICLE SUMMARY
Part scooter, part car and fully insane. A slight deviation from the usual well-bred supercar or cherished classic that is normally seen with us on Trade Classics. This is a 2012 two-seater Renault Twizy electric microcar. Not just a run of the mill 'common-garden' Twizy but one of just five specially created cars by Oakley Design, best known for preparing race cars. Inspired by the Renault Twizy Formula 1 as promoted by Sebastian Vettel, the F1 theme runs deep throughout the Oakley car. It features an F1 full carbon fibre aero-kit, front wing, side steps and rear splitter to mimic the original.Clad with Magnesium Formula Renault wheels with Pirelli P-Zero tyres, this is complemented by its Lamborghini LP760 style paintwork. This isn't a car for shrinking violets. Oakley Design is known for their detailed touches, so it's appropriate that the Twizy also includes an F1-style flashing rain light, all-round LED lights and quick release OMP steering wheel. The five specially produced cars took around a year to prepare and build and were originally created to match up with corresponding supercars in similar liveries, mainly as a vanity project by Oakley Design. The owner then sold the cars privately to owners who would use them to promote their own businesses as well as showcase Oakley's expertise. So where does this fit into your life? As a practical hack, potentially invaluable. Being a Renault it has safety in mind, with a deformable frame structure, lateral beams and a driver's airbag. And don't forget this is all-electric, so will cost almost next to nothing to run. Unplug and play.
