GerGerman car specialist Alpina has increased the performance of their Alpina B5 BiTurbo and Alpina B6 BiTurbo with a total of 33hp and 30Nm.
The V8 engine fitted with two Honeywell-Garrett turbochargers produces 540hp at a moderate 5,200rpm and a maximum torque of 730Nm is available from 2,800 to 4,500rpm. Sprints from standstill to 100km/h are now done in just 4.5 seconds (0.2 seconds faster), the top speed is reached at 319km/h (+12km/h). The Alpina B6 BiTurbo goes from zero to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 320km/h.
Just as a comparison, the BMW F10M M5 is powered by the 4.4 liter V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo package, which offers 560hp and 680Nm of torque. The new 2012 F10 M5 can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 4.4 seconds, and 0-200km/h in only 13 seconds. The voluntarily limited top speed is 250km/h.
