i remember a similar story with my Petri steering wheel back in Berlin, but then i had no coupe to rest it in, so a similar reflection was rattling my brain in the train that was bringing me to Templehof, there in a not very cool plastic bag a lovely Petri was laying, and i was making educated guesses of how the faces of my friends would look like if I finally had to hang it in the garage Wall...
this might have the same fate, or not, who knows...
i can´t drive slowly, simply i can´t, moreover now that i feel that the suspensión is just right, ...well it is not a secret that stock seats are not the best for curvy roads, either my ass is too small, or the seat is too wide,...
, so why do not give a try to scheels,...
...if only they were not so expensive,...

I started with simple things:

it is not easy to remove the fixing bar, as it is in tensión with a peculiar spring that must be removed:

Joer, que asientazos!! Me hace mucha gracia de esta marca el tamaño de los reposacabezas, son taaaan particulares.

Trabajo fino y limpio, tal y como nos tienes acostumbrados.

following @bfeng advise i lowered the frame and thus the support for rails introducing the tubes into the plates

y ya hemos empezado a romper,

start disassemble:



must remove odd clamps







look how peculiar are the sections of cloth fixed to the elastic straps, using the same type of clamps every time




the two laterals of the seat are fixed front to rear using two Steel wires fixed together by the clamps


must renew the straps using new ones


i will treat the frame against rust, using a curative procedure, and probably repaint in black afterwards




see how the two wires i mentioned are tightened along the seam lines

how is done:

lets go to the reinforcements,

final position is 33,5 cm

i will use two type of straps, the Green one is stronger (this will go on the bottom seat)
i will have to make them slightly smaller to pretensión them, so after some trials i decided to sew them at 30cm


how to put them in place, these are the back ones, made at 35cm for a total width of 38cm

bueno, pues ya estamos de sastre tapicero, da pereza, pero quiero probarlo cuanto antes



para dar forma a la espuma con el cuchillo jamonero



el metro de tela esta por las nubes asi que compre un metro y el planteamiento se las trae



primer reto, sacar el patrón de la tela, teniendo en cuenta que esta deshecha no dire que fue fácil





como la tela tiene dirección y líneas es esencial referenciar bien





a ver como copiamos la costura delantera del asiento

pespuntear y probar

y cantar




no hemos hecho mas que empezar, pero bueno,...

Conozco algo de tus capacidades fabricatorias, pero esto ya es demasié!
Vaya valor para despelotar unos Scheel y encima hacerlo así de bien y con tanto detalle al patrón original, partiendo de telas deshechas y espumas pochas.
En fin, un espectador más por aquí.

they are expensive but no way to Work in a seat without them,

Por cierto, esos alicates son como los que se usan en el montaje de cercados. Eso sí, no tienen esa curvatura..

exacto, estuve en leroy merlin, y vi los de cercas, pero creeme aquellos no habria dios que los metiera por el asiento,

en mi busqueda estuve incluso en un mayorista de productos de tapiceria de bilbo, subiñas, pero tampoco, no hubo forma de encontrar nada razonablemente adecuado, asi que menos mal que un amiguete me los encontro

i have to cut the back foam, it is not what i was supposed to do, but i found no other way,

Qué diferencia!, ahora solo queda que cuando hagas el otro , repliques el bastidor de hierro y te pongas a hacer unos Dequinscheel yo me pediría una pareja
