BMW officially confirmed the launch of X7, which will be the biggest ever SUV built by the German automaker back in 2014. Back then, the company also confirmed that the SUV will be manufactured at BMW's Spartanburg plant in North America.

Well, now we finally get to see what the prototype of the X7 looks like. As expected, it looks absolutely massive. Basically this is the SUV equivalent of the 7 Series. Behind all that camouflage we got to see how the car looks and we finally see the final body panels and the huge kidney grille.

What the design reminds us though is the X5 and this one is the larger version of it from the looks of it, however, we won't comment much on it till we see the final production model. The BMW X7 will ride on the CLAR platform and will have seating for 7 people. The cabin will take cues from the luxurious 7 Series sedan and so expect it to filled to the brim with mind boggling features.




We expect the BMW X7 to make its debut by 2018 and finally go up on sale by 2019; so the company has a year of testing ahead for the car. In engine department, the new BMW X7 will likely get the same powertrain that does duty on the BMW's flagship sedan. Moreover the X7 might also get the top-of-the line V12, which will also make it the first X model to get one. When launched the BMW X7 will go up against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLS, Audi Q7, Volvo XC90 and the Range Rover.

Exacto, ahora BMW ya tiene un rival para el MB GLS, ambos igual de aparatosos y aspecto de caja...es lo que quieren los yanquis y otros mercados del "cuanto más mejor".
