Como dice Chicharro, parece que les han comprado los derechos del nombre "STRATOS", pero esto no tiene nada que ver con Lancia. Supongo que después de ver el resultado, en Lancia se estén preguntando "per ché" habrán perdido la esencia deportiva y se dedicarán a hacer esas cosas insulsas y aburridas de hoy en día...

Tengo un repo de este coche en la revista Car de este mes, creo que lo habré lído ya unas seis o siete veces, jejejejej.....

New Stratos Performance Revealed: 0-62 MPH In 3.3 Seconds
So you thought near-3.0-second 0-60 mph times were solely the domain of uber-turbo all-wheel-drive boost buggies? Think again: the New Stratos, based on a shortened and highly customized Ferrari F430 platform, scoots to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.3 seconds. That's a dead heat with the Corvette ZR1, and the New Stratos does it without the aid of forced induction.

Getting to 124 mph (200 km/h) is a snap as well: just 9.7 seconds elapse. These acceleration numbers are just the tip of the iceberg, however, as slalom and lateral acceleration figures are yet to be released. With such low weight, mid-engine balance, and good apparent longitudinal grip, we expect the lateral performance to be even more remarkable.

How low is low, though? Dry weight for the New Stratos comes in right at 2,750 pounds. That should equate to a curb weight in the mid-2800s. Weight balance is 44/56 percent front to rear. Its coefficient of drag is rather high at 0.357, but that's actually on the low side for cars that have to ventilate high-performance engines while also generating usable downforce.

With a total frontal area of 2.07 square meters, the total drag of the package (drag area of 7.95) is still fairly high: the 2008 Nissan GT-R has a drag area of 6.08, and the 2007 SSC Ultimate Aero scores 7.13. That makes us somewhat less hopeful for ultimate top-end speed, but could indicate impressive grip levels. We'll have to wait and see.

New Lancia Stratos: Full Tech Specs and Performance Figures
The PR people behind the New Stratos project continue to slowly reveal additional information about Pininfarina's one-off supercar. This time they released the full tech specs and performance figures.

Based on Ferrari F430 Scuderia underpinnings, the retrotastic Stratos packs a considerable punch. It measures 4.1 meters in length and tips the scales at just 1.247 kg (2.749 pounds) with the weight distributed 44% in the front and 56% at the rear. Power-to-weight ratio is 2.3 kg/hp, thanks to the 4.3-liter V8 engine, which churns out 540 hp and over 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. That’s 30 ponies more than the Scuderia’s stock powerplant.

The New Stratos rides on 19-inch alloys, shod in 265/30 front and 315/30 rear Dunlop Sport Maxx tires. Stopping power is provided by 398 mm front and 350 mm rear Brembo brakes.

Pininfarina’s test team wasn’t able to properly put the new car through its paces due to bad weather, so the performance figures announced are preliminary. Even so, they’re pretty amazing.

The sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) is claimed to be just 3.3 seconds and, pushed further, the Stratos can reach 200 km/h (124 mph) in an equally impressive 9.7 seconds. The engineers plan to introduce a new rear axle, which will reduce top speed to 274 km/h (170 mph), but will also further improve acceleration values.

NEW STRATOS: MANUFACTURING OF A LIMITED SERIES

Manifattura Automobili Torino and New Stratos Gbr have reached an agreement for the manufacturing of a limited series of the New Stratos.

The car developed by Michael Stoschek, Chairman of the Brose Group and famous German Entrepreneur, together with his son, and originally built by Pininfarina, has been licensed to MAT that will produce and sell a maximum of 25 units.

Paolo Garella, presently CEO of Manifattura Automobili Torino and former Program Manager of the New Stratos Project, has obtained from Michael and Maximilian Stoschek permission to replicate the New Stratos using the same design and technologies of their car.

The 25 units will be offered worldwide, with the customer having a choice of different options and variations. The base platform that MAT will use to build the New Stratos will allow the creation of a GT racer, a Safari version, but also a competent supercar for the daily use.

The striking design of the New Stratos follows the lines of its world-famous predecessor offering a new exciting interpretation of the most famous and successful rally car of the past. Its lightweight design, the engine that can deliver over 550HP and the specially tuned suspensions and the ideal balance deliver an experience that no other supercar can assure on tight and twisty roads. The classic and simple car interior is a perfect example of efficient and bespoke design. It maintains the characteristics of the original car, like the integrated support for the helmets in the doors and enhances the souls and the mission of the car: making it ready to be a new, winning rally car.

Michael Stoschek has commented on the agreement by saying: “I am delighted that other passionate car enthusiasts can experience how successor of the most fascinating rally car from the seventies still sets the bar for design and performance today”.

Paolo Garella added: “For MAT this agreement is a further step in our growth and allows our path to becoming a true manufacturer. A small production run is a new challenge for us. To have the opportunity to build the New Stratos is a great honor and a recognition of the capabilities that MAT has acquired over the last few years. From its foundation in 2014, MAT has been involved in 4 different projects for the design and development of supercars. Now with the New Stratos we will deliver an extremely refined supercar that can be used every day but also deliver excitement and exhilarating fun on twisty roads.”

The car in all its variants will be presented at the upcoming Geneva Motorshow at the MAT stand. Prices and terms of delivery will be announced during the event.
