The owner of the $3 million dollar Ferrari is searching for the person who sideswiped him

• A Ferrari F40 driver claims an 18-wheeler sideswiped him late on Saturday night.
• The damage to the $3-million car was extensive, forcing the driver to pull over.
• He’s hoping that the public can help him find the semi driver responsible.

If there’s one thing that can ruin a great drive, it’s an accident. That’s what we have here, but it’s compounded by a few factors. First, the car in question is a rare Ferrari F40. Second, the driver who hit the Ferrari ran off before the F40 owner could identify them. Finally, it appears as though authorities haven’t located the hit-and-run driver. Maybe you can help.

The man who goes simply by Supercar Ron online says the accident happened late on Saturday, June 28, on southbound I-15 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Near the border of Orem and Lindon, a semi truck allegedly with long wheel lug nuts sideswiped the Ferrari. According to Ron, the truck was a dark color, seemed newer, and appeared aware of the accident before driving off.

It left the Ferrari with significant damage both to the body and to one of the wheels. The rear fender and driver’s side of the body are heavily torn up, with the Kevlar fibers literally hanging off the side. The wheel is so badly mangled that the barrel is almost completely folded in on itself. It’s no wonder that Ron didn’t try to chase the driver down, as this car wouldn’t make it very far without doing more damage to itself.

“We need help tracking this person down. Hit and run drivers need to be held responsible. If you know who this could be or were in the area… and have dashcam footage, please let me know,” said Ron on Instagram.
He also confirmed that he’s offering a reward for information related to the crash. At least one person online has already claimed to have some footage, though they caution it’s not of the highest quality.
