BMW Cruise e-Bike 2014 Has Turbo Mode

Well-known for the cars and motorcycles it manufactures, BMW also started to be a steady presence in the electric bicycle segment, and here's a new, nifty pedelec, the Cruise e-Bike 2014.

Does the Cruise e-Bike 2014 look better than the average city bike? By all means, yes: BMW did not neglect this aspect so the white and black accented frame and overall design bring it into the premium segment.

Fairly discrete BMW badges are placed on the anti-theft system, steering head and battery pack so the bike will not look at all ostentatious.

BMW Cruise e-Bike 2014 is powered by a 400 Wh battery pack which can be recharged to 50% in 90 minutes or fully during 3.5 hours. The battery feeds a 250W Bosch motor which puts 48 Nm of torque (35.4 ft-lb) at your service. A full battery should provide up to 100 km (62 miles) of assitance, though excat figures will surely vary with the chosen assitance mode.

The rider has to pedal for the motor to kick in, and assist level is anywhere between 0 and 225%, with the sensor arrays making 1000 readings a second.

The cool factor is dramatically enhanced by the Turbo mode, which seems to smoke other similar bikes with ease, though draining the battery much faster, too.

With its 22-kilogram (48.5 lbs) weight, the BMW Cruise e-Bike 2014 in not terrifyingly heavy. However, the price is definitely the main blunt feature: at €2,799 ($3,825), this is not exactly everybody's Xmas or birthday present.

Una tonteria de bici sobre todo teniendo en cuenta en la ciudad/pais que han hecho las fotos. Que se caracteriza sobre todo por sus grandes cuestas ^_^

El hermano de un amigo tiene una montain baik de esas que cuesta el doble de dinero, y no veas el esfuerzo que requiere hacerla andar... solamente loma abajo!

Teniendo en cuenta las pegatinas bemeuve, no se me antoja excesivamente cara para ser eléctrica.
