Audi A6


The new A6 doesn’t even care of pretending to have twin trapezoidal exhaust tips, so Audi just added a really shallow plastic cover within the trim pieces and called it a day.



BMW X5



The new BMW X5 on the other hand has the decency to actually route its exhaust pipes into the bumper. Still a bit frustrating but way better than the worst offenders here.

DS3 Crossback



Moving on to the new DS3 Crossback, which is actually one of the most honest new cars as far as exhausts go; just look at that snug fitment of the pipe within the tip! So satisfying.



KIA ProCeed



The new Kia ProCeed might be one of the most impressive wagon models we’ve seen this year but it too can’t escape from the fake-huge-tip syndrome. At least the real exhaust is nestled in there.



Mercedes – Every.Single.Model





Mercedes, along with Audi, is one of the worst offenders here, as every model comes with these infuriating pieces of trim on the rear bumper that pretend to be the exhaust tip, only to find out that the actual exhaust hides behind them.



Only the AMG models come with exhausts that actually point at the same direction with the tips, as portrayed here by the new AMG GT4 43.

$18.7M Bugatti La Voiture Noire Geneva Car Is a Mockup, Production Set For 2022

Remember the Bugatti La Voiture Noire that made its debut in Geneva earlier this week? Of course you do. After all, with a price tag of around $18.7 million, we're talking about the most expensive new car ever sold. However, you shouldn't expect to see more than a mockup too soon.
You see, Bugatti's designers have prepared the hypercar, but its engineers aren't quite done with it yet, nor is the homologation process completed. So, despite the thing basically being a skin for the Chiron, most likely with the same being true for the interior, the car greeting us on the Swiss event's floor is far from the finished thing.

In fact, if you zoom in on the some of the live images in the gallery above, you'll notice that the sextuple exhaust tips don't lead anywhere and that the fancy design elements on the tires appear to be mere stickers.

And, according to The Verge, it will take another 30 months for the La Voiture Noire to be completed, so we'll only get to listen to its 1,500 horsepower roar in 2022.

Then again, it's not difficult to understand why the yet unnamed owner has made the acquisition. This Molsheim monster is a one-off, whose value can only increase in time. Besides, such an addition to one's car collection only showcases the financial power of the owner.

Speaking of which, the one-off is rumored to be destined for Dr. Ferdinand Piëch, grandson of Ferdinand Porsche and former chairman of the Volkswagen Group.

The inspiration for the new styling cues came from the iconic Type 57 Atlantic, which was Ettore Bugatti's son Jean. Long story short, only four units were ever built and the one belonging to Jean Bugatti was lost is a scheme that saw the Nazis seizing the carmaker's assets during the War - forum chat mentions that fashion icon Ralph Lauren has declined an offer of $100 million for his Atlantic, so we can only imagine the value of the lost car.

No sé qué p*to problema tienen con poner salidas de verdad redondas con un embellecedor redondo también. O eso o salida por debajo pero sin molduras fake o similares. No me compraría nunca un coche así.

Dejando de lado el AMG que por lo que se ve no es de palo, eso es un simple reflejo de la superficialidad en la que vivimos. Y además sin necesidad, porque puedo entender el postureo en un GTI de 20.000 € pero en coches de más de 60.000 que a priori son maquinas muy serias da bastante vergüenza.

fijate que aun no siendo del cabalino, en este caso lo disculparia a modo de embelledor enfriador para que no se derrita esa fibra con la temperatura. pero en los mercedes y los audi es que queda hasta mas feo. no lo entiendo

En ciertos casos donde no se ofrece una auténtica falsedad, diría que el escape termina en una especie de boca de trompeta más o menos embellecida, que no merma en absoluto ni la cantidad de salida de escape ni el sonido de éstos.
Distinto es que el escape vaya soldado o no a la embocadura; normalmente infinitamente de más diámetro que el tubo.
