The 2022 M4 Competition XDrive (Starting Price CAD$91,600 / US$78,800) is the first M4 to have AWD which means it might be able to take on the 2021 Audi RS5 (Starting Price CAD$86,550 / US$75,900) XDrive VS Quatto...but for good measure we decided a 2021 Nissan GT-R (Starting Price CAD$130,498 / US$113,540) would be an interesting benchmark... How does it all play out? Things don’t always go as planned.

BMW M3 v Audi RS5 v AMG C63 Black Series: DRAG RACE

It’s time for a mighty BMW v AMG v Audi drag race! Mat’s lining up in his long-termer BMW M3, which is powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six that can put down 510hp & 650Nm of torque. It weighs in at 1,730kg and if you’re looking to pick one up, it’ll set you back at least £75,000. On the opposite side of the strip, we have our newest long-termer, the Audi RS5 Sportback. It may be slightly down on power, producing 450hp & 600Nm from its 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6, but it has one advantage over the M3 - it’s equipped with Quattro all-wheel-drive! The weight is almost identical, at 1,745kg, and it’s also slightly cheaper, at £71,000. Then finally we have the AMG C63 Black Series! It’s housing a monstrous 6.2-litre naturally-aspirated V8 under the bonnet, which can put down 517hp & 620Nm. It’s the lightest car here, at 1,710kg, but it’ll also cost you the most (in 2021, at least), with a price tag of £110,000. So, how will this one play out? Will the classic C63 Black snatch it? Or will it be a walkover for the M3? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

We decided it was time to sort the stance out on our BMW m4 competition and of course we are going to be fitting the Eibach spring kit which drops the car -20mm.

G82 M4 vs R8 V10 on track - POV footage

Took our cars out for their first track day. I'm driving the M4 and my buddy the R8 V10 performance, both on the same Michelin Pilot sport 4s tire. Both are relatively matched in skill. Needless to say he was very upset his 215k audi was getting harassed by my M4 all day . I uploaded some solo clear laps on the track section as well, enjoy!

Huge thanks to Hedin Automotive https://hedinautomotive.ch / https://www.instagram.com/hedinautomo...) who made it possible for me to get my hands on one of these! Btw. these are also the people who took good care of my M5 Touring! It is a top-spec version: Carbon ceramics, carbon buckets, carbon bits on exterior and interior, the lot! It is probably safe to say that this is the fastest ever M3/M4 but is it the most fun to drive?

The MK6 'G80'-series generation BMW M3 ups the ante in a number of regards. It's quicker, cleverer, better looking and offers more equipment. You even get the option of AWD for the first time. It's offered in saloon guise (though you can also ask your dealer about a Touring estate version) and it keeps to an enhanced version of the classic straight-six engine configuration. What's not to like?

Cuando se presentaron por primera vez los nuevos modelos G80 M3 y G82 M4 , el mundo aparentemente se quedó sin aliento ante el nuevo lenguaje de diseño. Aunque fuimos advertidos por el BMW Serie 4 que había venido antes, con su nuevo estilo frontal, algunos de nosotros todavía esperábamos que las fotos espía que habíamos visto del M3 y M4 no fueran ciertas. Y, sin embargo, cuando se quitaron los velos, la cruda realidad nos miró a la cara.

Pero una cosa es ver estos autos en imágenes y una experiencia completamente diferente verlos en el 'metal'. Además, para comprender mejor qué y cómo cambió en términos de estilo, definitivamente será de ayuda tener a las dos generaciones una al lado de la otra. Por lo tanto, eso es exactamente lo que hicieron los chicos de Road and Track. Hablaron con BMW USA y obtuvieron un nuevo G82 M4 y un BMW F82 M4 más antiguo uno al lado del otro para compararlos a fondo.



En el exterior, por supuesto, el mayor tema de conversación será la fascia delantera. Ahí es donde los enormes riñones dominan la atmósfera y, según BMW, también tienen algunos beneficios prácticos. Aparentemente, el motor S58 debajo del capó necesita mucho enfriamiento y esa es otra razón por la que se necesitaban estas enormes rejillas. Esto ofrecería una respuesta a aquellas personas que se preguntan por qué el M3 también tuvo que adoptar este diseño, considerando que la Serie 3 y la Serie 4 son bastante diferentes de lo contrario.

Dentro de la cabina, las cosas son igualmente diferentes. El nuevo M4 es mucho más lujoso que el anterior, si puede permitírselo, por supuesto. El video a continuación muestra un modelo completamente equipado, que probablemente tenga una etiqueta de precio que exceda los $ 100,000. When the new G80 M3 and G82 M4 models were first unveiled, the world seemingly gasped at the new design language. Even though we were warned by the BMW 4 Series that had come before, with its new front end styling, some of us were still hoping that the spy shots we had seen of the M3 and M4 were not true. And yet, when the veils were taken down, the harsh reality stared us in the face.

But it’s one thing to see these cars in pictures, and a completely different experience to see them in the ‘metal’. Furthermore, in order to get a better grasp of what and how changed in terms of styling, getting the two generations side by side is definitely going to help. Therefore, that’s exactly what the guys from Road and Track did. They talked to BMW USA and got a brand new G82 M4 and an older BMW F82 M4 side by side to compare them thoroughly.

On the outside, of course, the biggest talking point will be the front fascia. That’s where the huge kidneys dominate the atmosphere and, according to BMW, come with some practical benefits too. Apparently, the S58 engine under the hood needs a lot of cooling and that’s yet another reason why these massive grilles were needed. This would offer an answer to those people wondering why the M3 also had to adopt this design, considering the 3 Series and 4 Series are quite different otherwise.

Inside the cabin things are just as different. The new M4 is a lot more luxurious than the old one, if you can afford it, of course. The video below shows a fully-kitted out model, that’s most likely wearing a price tag that exceeds $100,000. The carbon bucket seats alone make the new M4 look decades into the future compared to the old one. The leather-wrapped dashboard and all the new tech definitely set these two cars apart. New Square setup 285-35-19 Nitto 555rII 2022 Bmw M3 Competition Xdrive

I bought an additional set of fronts. Now i can run a square setup. I did this for 3 reasons. The first reason is sidewall. 35 series vs 30. Better traction.The next reason is comfort meaning potholes and bumps etc. The next reason now i can rotate them being that they are square.
